API 5L seamless line pipes for onshore and offshore transmission of oil, gas and water, available in multiple grades and PSL levels.

API 5L line pipe is used to transport oil, natural gas and water through pipelines. Seamless API 5L pipe is available in Grade B and the X grades from X42 to X70, supplied to PSL 1 or the more demanding PSL 2 level, which adds stricter chemistry, toughness and testing.

Protek Pipes supplies API 5L seamless line pipe in plain end or bevelled end, with varnished or coated finishes. Sour service and offshore requirements can be discussed when you send your project specification.

What is the difference between PSL 1 and PSL 2?

PSL 2 has stricter requirements for chemical composition, mechanical properties, toughness and non destructive testing than PSL 1. It is normally specified for critical or low temperature pipelines.

Can API 5L pipe be used for sour service?

Sour service needs additional requirements described in the API 5L annex for sour service. Please tell us if your project needs it so we can confirm what is available.

What lengths are available?

Pipes are normally supplied in random lengths, with double random and fixed lengths on request.
