FAQ
Seamless Pipe FAQs
Cannot find your answer? Our team will help with grade, size and standard selection.
Ask usWhat is seamless steel pipe?
Seamless steel pipe is made from a solid billet that is heated, pierced and rolled into a hollow section, so there is no weld seam. This gives uniform strength around the pipe and makes it the preferred choice for high pressure, high temperature and critical service.
What is the difference between seamless and welded pipe?
Welded pipe is formed from plate or coil and joined along a seam, while seamless pipe has no seam. Seamless pipe is generally specified where pressure, temperature or safety requirements are higher.
Which standards and grades do you supply?
Our range covers ASTM A106 and ASTM A53 carbon steel pipe, API 5L line pipe, ASTM A192 and A179 boiler and heat exchanger tubes, and ASTM A519 and EN 10297 mechanical tubes. If your project calls for another standard, send us the specification and we will check what is available.
Can you cut pipes to length or supply special sizes?
Yes. We can arrange cutting and bevelling to your requirement, and we can source special or heavy wall sizes on request.
Do you provide mill test certificates?
Mill test certificates and other inspection documents are available on request. Please tell us what documentation your project needs when you enquire.
How do I get a quote for seamless pipes?
Send us the standard and grade, outside diameter, wall thickness or schedule, length and quantity using the enquiry form, by email or by phone. We will reply with price, availability and lead time.
